The Love Story

WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Paige and Scott went into New Year’s Eve 2019 with separate plans and no idea the other existed. A chance encounter at the bar, a little encouragement from Paige’s friends, and one midnight kiss later, they exchanged numbers.
One of the first things Paige noticed? The 6'3" guy wearing Jordans with a suit - a choice she loved, and one that would become a little more significant years later.
And then… Scott didn’t text Paige for an entire year.

THE INVISIBLE STRING
Turns out, they were never far apart. They lived a block away, had countless connections through their jobs in sports, frequented the same East Village diner, The Coffee Shop, and even crossed paths on work calls, all without realizing it.
It just took another New Year’s Eve for their paths to finally cross again.

MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME
Exactly one year later, Scott finally texted Paige out of the blue: “So, what ever happened? Why did we never meet up?”
Paige’s response: “I feeeel like that’s on you”
They agreed to meet up when Paige was back in New York, but then Paige completely forgot to text him. A week or so later, Scott followed up with: “So, never make it back to New York?”
This time, they actually made a plan.

THE PROPOSAL
2023
THE WEST VILLAGE
New Year’s Eve is when they met, when they found their way back to each other, and now, when they’ll get married.
Eight years after that first midnight kiss, they can’t wait to ring in another New Year with all of you - this time as husband and wife!
MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME
January 2021
Dating during a New York winter in COVID made for some unconventional first dates. Their first was at a bar below Paige’s apartment, where her friends’ “casual walk-bys” were made slightly less subtle by their matching NC State sweatshirts. After that night, they both quietly cancelled the other dates on their calendars, neither knowing the other had done the same. Scott’s only concern? They “might be too similar.”
Their second involved Scott’s “reservation” at a wine bar that turned out to be closed, followed by 16-degree drinks under a heat lamp.
By date three, Scott had met nearly everyone Paige knew in New York and was quickly thrown into the group’s infamous apartment theme parties.
Turns out, they were just similar enough.

THE WEST VILLAGE
After a couple of years together, Paige and Scott traded the East Village for the West Village and moved into their first apartment together.
It quickly became home: favorite neighborhood spots, picnics on Christopher Street Pier, walks through the Village, and a life in New York that they couldn't imagine anywhere else.
And living together? The easiest thing they’d ever done.

THE PROPOSAL
Scott proposed on Commerce Street, Paige’s favorite street in the West Village, wearing the same Jordans she noticed the night they met.
They celebrated at Christopher Street Pier with some of their closest friends, champagne, espresso martinis, and their favorite neighborhood pizza. The night ended at their local dive bar, where they surprised the rest of their NYC friends with the news.
A perfect NYC ending to the night.
